andrew was first, however, to figure this out yourself, it is easiest to have a clean piece of paper. Based on the info, write louise's name close to the bottom, but with space above and below. b/c denise was beaten by jack and louise, you know that jack's name will be above louise's and denise finished last as of right now... jim wasn't first, (but he must have finished near the top, so put him b4 jack (with space around his name)), and andrew beat jim, so his name will be in the first place position. My advise, break down the questions, and only concentrate on one fact at a time when possible. (order of race finish... andrew, jim, jack, louise, denise). Good Luck!

Andrew won the race
Jim 2nd
Jack 3rd
Louise 4th
Denish 5th

-->Denish was the last because he was beaten by Jack and Louise and Jack was beaten by Jim but Jim was beaten by Andrew. Since there were only 5 of them so Andrew was the 1st, Jim the 2nd, Jack the 3rd, Louise the 4th (Louise was not the last coz he beated Denish), and Denish the last.

*AFTER ONE HOUR Ist watch = +a million min 2d watch = -2 minutes ____________________________ *the version AFTER ONE HOUR a million-(-2) = 3 minutes/hr -----> the version after a million hour ____________________________ a million hr = 60 minutes *interior the EQUATION: 3 minutes = the version after a million hour a million hr = after one hour 60 minutes = the version of a million hour (a million hour = 60 minutes) a = the time mandatory till the two watches have a distinction of one hour 3 minutes/a million hr = 60 minutes/a hr ------> (pass multiply) and you''ll get (3 minutes) (a hr) = (60 minutes) (a million hr) (3 minutes) (a hr) = **60 minutes **(60 minutes = a million hr, so 1hr x 1hr = 1hr or 60 minutes) a hr = 60 minutes/3 minutes a = 20 hrs the respond is 20 hours!!! :P
