I've been looking for a job lately but my S.S.N. is in progress right now and i only have a tax number, can i still use this in place of a S.S.N. to work with?? Isn't it just so i can cash in my check?? Just wondering??

You can use your tax number to fill out the I-9 immigration form that is required to work here in the US as long as you can provide another form of state-issued photo ID to back it up, like a driver's license or US passport.

yeah I think it wil work but I have never tryed it before so I am not sure. hope you fine the right kind of job you are looking for
