It all depends on where you live and what side of town you live on...for every city there are great websites...but for every great website, there is a great house that's not listed. I'd suggest picking the side of town or neighborhood that you want to live in and ride around and look for signs. Talk to people that you know, there's always people out there that "know" someone that's either selling or renting their house out. Good luck to you. My husband and I were very lucky to get the house that we have. The bar that we go to, the owner was trying to sell his house, but wasn't on a website, now we own it!!

But honestly, I think if you're not also out there driving around the places you'd like to live, or walking or biking, you're really limiting yourself. Check the bulletin boards and leave "Wanted" signs at your neighbourhood or community churches, restaurants, coffeeshops, bike shops, etc. Use word of mouth.

Not everything is on the Internet. So far. And don't think it all ever will be.
