if your old friends don't like the fact that you want to break of the circle and find new friends then your old friends are not really friends at all.Sometimes we all need a break from the same old life that we have been living and finding newer and more interesting friends may be the only way to do it .Go for it and find some new friends and if your old friends are true they will always respect whatever decisions you make.Don't live your life to please other people as you will never be able to please yourself.

Well you just stated "they (old friends?) do not like what I do...are your new friends of the lowest common denominator..such as drug dealers, gang members, etc. IF this is the case and you have not given any examples of your new activities, then I would drop you as a so-called friend; however, if you are just expanding your circle of friends and the new ones are decent hard-working folks that are not involved in any illegal activites, then perhaps your old friends are feeling threatened by these additions to your life. We all have a certain " comfort zone" maybe they miss you spending time with them and just hanging out at a pizza parlor. Sometimes there just might be personality clash, and it might just be that simple. I do not know you, but perhaps you are a jerk and you are not telling us that. If not, then have a simple barbeque with hotdogs and hamburgers and invite each faction without letting the other one know. Perhaps some real conversation about everyday things will help your old friends feel better about your new ones once they have spoken to each other.

Some people have a so called comfort zone, with you making new friends the comfort level with your old friends is no longer comfortable. Sounds as if your friends can't deal with change and are jealous, just because your old friends don't like your new friends doesn't mean you have to stop making new friends, find a point of compromise between your old and new friends if one can't be made than I suggest you move on, cause what sort of friend stops you from making new friends just because they don't like them.

When you have been around a certain group of friends for awhile then they tend to start thinking that you belong to them.
and now that you are making some new friends then you are probably not spending as much time with the old ones as you once were. It is probably hurting their feelings or more accurately they are feeling threatened by your new friends and friendships.

There not real friends if they turn against you. Your new friend better I hope. Just remember this one thing people are in your life for a reason, a season, or for a lifetime.

Obviously if they are turning against you then they are not really your friends. Pick new friends and choose them wisely. I promise you that the faithful ones will come around

tell them you can make time for them and make time for your friends also they dont have to be friends with each other because i sense they dont mesh well together but then again as you get older sometimes we tend to move away from old friends and to new ones its life only the true friends put in the effort to keep in touch so chin up.

Which friends would your PARENTS approve of?

If they are all good kids - have a party and invite all of them. Sometimes our old friends get a little jealous and insecure of new friends. Show them that you can be a good friend to lots of people.
