Companies can pay you how ever they like. Since you say you are a foreman, usually top titles positions are paid salary. Which isn't all that bad. At least you are guaranteed at certain amount each week. That means they can make you work more hours for the same amount, and also if you take any days off, they still have to pay you the same amount, I believe it makes life easier, when you know your pay is the same and how you utilize your income on paying bills.

Sometimes people in management roles are considered 'exempt' status, but it does sound a bit odd. Best group to be able to tell you for sure in your area is your state's version of the National Labor Relations Board. They watch that stuff very carefully and will know the exact do's and don'ts. Try the phone book or web for your state's local listing.

They can do what ever they want. By the way I voted for Bush which is one of the best Pres. we ever have. I get paid overtime and double overtime. The deal he put through was not a mandatory think for all businesses. He gave choice to work overtime.

the bastard bush pushed through changes in wage/hour laws that allows business to make all supervisory people 'exempt' from wage/hour protections. That means, no limit to the hours you work, plus no overtime pay.

who'd you vote for?
