You want a high-fat diet, something low in simple sugars. This means no cheapo sweet feeds. I have draft horses and to keep them on a higherfat diet I give them Purina Ultium. You can also add veg oil to the feed for an increase in calories from fat.

I've heard beet pulp is good to feed to them..horses with EPSM should have a very low starch/sugar diet, and it should be very high in fat... i would try to contact a veternarian and see if they know of a horse nutritionist(if one exists??) and ask what the best feeding plan for your horse is.. good luck!
