laser printers use toners, and for the most part are black and white, there do exist color laser printers, but they are very expensive and with each toner cartridge costing around 80 bucks, it gets quite expensive to replace them. Lasers main benefit is that the toner lasts for a long time before needing to be replaced. Typically 3-7000 pages for a non starter cartridge.

Where lasers fall down is in photo printing, the best color laser I have at work has a 400x400 dpi resolution that may not sound horrible, but when you consider that the cheapo HP inkjet printer sports a 4800x1200 resolution for the same type of printing you can see where there is some quality difference, Canon high end photo printers even go up to 9600x2400 resolution which is excellent for home photo printing.

Of course if you have no need for photo printing, and don't care about color that much, definately go with a laser since in the long run you save money on toner.

As for the Laser printer, it is using laser beam to print on the paper and the printed quality is good and clear.
But as for others, deskjet/ bubble jet, its using spraying method to print on the table. So the quality for sure is not so clear as laser printer.
Some more, the time required for laser printer to print 1 copy of ducument is fast, whereas, others will slower!

there is a big difference in laser printer you can save a lot of money and repair on laser while on inkjet, deskjet it will cost you less on your pocket but less print out too, the more you buy the more expense you got, i prefer using laserjet it is more cheap and long lasting than inkjets.
