2. When it rains, everybody seems to be doing twice the legal speed limit.
3. People have no idea what a space cushion is.
4. Blinkers (turn-signals) are non-existant. (It's the little lever on the left-hand side of your steering column.)
5. Everybody passes on the right.
6. People ride brakes excessively. (I think we have the highest brake-change rate in the nation...unofficial results...)

There are crappy drivers everywhere. It isn't just here. The same exact thing happens in every state. Ohio was just as bad. Texas was even worse. Las Vegas even has bad drivers.
I have been through 35 states and they all had their share of horror on the road.
My guess is that you are noticing it because you are here now. If you were elsewhere you would be asking why they are so crappy there. You only know what you are going to do so everyone elses moves are scary.

The police don't enforce the the laws enough. The more enforcement there is the more likely people will follow the law, but when the police aren't willing to pull people over for breaking the law, people will just do whatever they want.

HELL I LEARN HOW TO DRIVE ON THE BACK ROADS OF ALABAMA. RED CLAY DIRT ROAD, WOULD WASH OUT IN SPRING COULD NOT STOP SO I HAD TO STIR ( LIVED ON TOP OF A MOUNTIAN) THE D PROBLEM WITH AL DRIVERS IS THEY THINK THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES ON THE ROAD.
