Reasonably.... Yes that would be a nice way for it to work. But unfortunately the systems in place are not designed that way!
Most religions/faiths are based in fear and intimidation. Do this, Be that way.... OR ELSE!..... Complete BS! Its designed that way because most people really don't have too much common sense, it creates fear... hence, they follow those man made guidelines specifically so that the origins of the "faith" is capable of sustaining itself and prosper.
FEAR is NOT of god, anything contained within any doctrine which dictates some form of punishment as a result of NOT following said doctrine is false. Those foolish enough to buy into that line of thinking are already lost.... Much of the time so much so that its extremely difficult to change or reverse.... again due to fear.
Aside from this, most human beings are designed to naturally go in a direction which isn't negative, which is a good thing! But that trait specifically is also why the former works so very well. Good luck.

The god most people believe in is a god of absolutes and black-and-white morality. Either you get an eternity of paradise despite the evil you've done, or you get an eternity of suffering despite the good you've done. This is really a sign of a primitive morality.
To be fair, a few religions incorporate some 3rd choice, like purgatory. This is a step up from the good-or-evil false dichotomy, but in the end all religions' afterlifes simply amount to a child-like punishment/reward morality system. Aside from Buddhism, I don't know of any religions that give more than lip service to the notion of doing good solely for the sake of goodness, regardless of any bribes (heaven) or threats (hell).

This all depends on what kind of philosophy you subscribe to and what you mean by good and evil. Since good and evil can be seen as completely relative terms.
You may steal bread which is evil for the shop owner, but good for your family that you are feeding.
You may lie to your boss and tell him you are sick so you can miss work, which is evil to your boss, but you may be going to see your childs play which is good to your child.
You may kill a million people, but save the lives of two million people. That is only evil if you were one of the people who died.
Life is not black and white enough for that; add to all of that this entire concept of hell and heaven.
I would honestly think that life being as it is; no one should go to hell; not even for a second. If such a place did in fact exist. Which I can assure you, it doesn't.

not really... coz why do evil deeds really? most of the time we do things that may seem evil to some yet we dont realize that it is...
supposing we are gossiping behind someone's back... to some of us, we're just discussing different opinions about certain people, right? a lot of times this results to misconceptions to the concerned party yet we never had the intention of doing so.. in effect, it's an evil thing to do, yet we never realize it till the last minute...
thing is, deeds are done, evil or righteous ones, to make us realize that it is indeed, evil or righteous... we learn from it, correct it if it's a mistake and do it again if it's good.
my point is, we make what's best for our time not necessarily for intentions of good or evil, but to gain experience as we go through life...

No, you still have to go to hell full time--but only for half of eternity.
