I'm going to start highschool in a couple weeks, and I am extremly nervous. I was bullied constantly during my last school year in Middle School, mainly because of my weight. I really don't want the same thing to happen again. It was too stressful and depressing for me. So, I was wondering, does anyone have any tips about how to avoid getting bullied in high school and how to basically survive a first year at high school? Please? I really don't want to end up in a depressing situation like last school year again.

Well,..let me tell you about one of my daughters who had large breasts and also had a weight problem when entering high school. She was taunted and picked on. Her mother was ready to complain to the school and the school board if necessary. I told them both that this will only work for a short while, and the harrassing students will just do it when the teachers are not around. I asked her to describe the main people who did this and what THEY looked like. You see,..these people will keep doing this as long as it still gets the desired effect from you, or a laugh from the others. Don't forget,...they are all self-conscious about something about themselves too. You need to take the control away from them, and turn the situation around. She went back to school armed with this knowledge and several good responses, jokes, and come - back lines. When prissy Melisa (the godess) made a nasty remark....she smiled sweetly to her and said, (for all to hear)..."WELL, THANK-YOU Melisa,...YOU'RE SOoooo KIND! Now everyone's looking at Melisa like she's a mean nasty Bit ch. When Tyler, (the bean pole) made a nasty comment about her weight..she said...(in a kind motherly way)..."oh, now don't be insecure,...just because,.. next to me ...you look like a PENCIL." Now the whole class is in histerical laughter at Tyler, cause, she took control, made him look like a baby. She turned it around on HIM...and his joke (to make himself look good)...just blew-up in his face!
To Sammy (the pervert) who said...you got BIG BOOBS. She pretended shock and suprise and said....NO?...REALLY?....I never noticed,...THANK-YOU for telling me that! Now Sam looks like a dumb @ss for saying what was obvious. On a stormy, windy day Vince, (with the big nose) said, I guess with your weight YOU don't have to worry about being blown away! The class laughed. She let it have no effect on her, and replied...ya' you're right,...but it's gotta be tough for you, huh? I mean,...with that nose of yours,...you'd probably spin-around like a weather vane. The class roared. To other remarks she'd smile sweetly and say...."THANKS"....you're nice too!
Sometimes it was,(smiling)...WELL, THANK-YOU....thats the nicest thing anybody's said to me all day! These lines (and others) put the people in their place and point out to them and others, how mean they are. Soon the remarks became fewer,.. and one by one,...she started win them over. In the end she gained the repect of both students and teachers. In her second year, when the president of the athletic committy left, the principal and teachers asked HER to take it over. She became friends with a lot of the tough jocks, and popular sports girls. Nobody bugged her after that,....or they'd have to deal with "THEM". She ran for Student Council President in her third year and WON. She was asked to run again (by the teachers) in here final year and WON by a land slide.

So you see...you can over-come any obstacle with the right approach!

Just keep smiling.. and fake-it till ya' make it!!!

GOOD LUCK....HAVE FUN....and never let the bastards wear ya' down!!!!!!

You need to record them saying nasty things to you if possible. Also start documenting everything. time ,date, what happened in a journal. Bullying is a huge problem in the world today. I have heard stories of people committing suicide over it cause the teachers etc. didn't do anything about it. I was bullied as a teen for years. It made my life a living hell. I ended up dropping out of school because of it. I felt like no one did anything about it and those bullies kept getting away with it , so they kept doing it. If I were you I would keep telling school officials. Have your parents tell them too. Call your local paper and tell them to write an article about Teen bullying" You need to get the word out to other people. I bet you that there are other people in your school that have had the same issues but never told anyone. Start talking to other people in your class/ school. Try to get them on your side. Have them complain too. The more complaints the more something might change.

that is really horrible that people would treat you that way simply because of your weight. the only thing i can suggest is finding a group of really close friends that truly care about you, then it wont seem as bad if you do end up getting bullied again. try not to let it bother you if you do get teased because that is what they want out of you. if you give no reaction they will eventually stop because its not fun for them anymore. i hope that helps

Here is what my boyfriend did:
- make a few good friends
- act like what the bullies did doesn't matter to you. They'll stop if they get 0 reaction out of you.
- be friendly. If you have a bunch of friends then more people will like you and the bullies will stop because they don't want enemies.
- never give into the bullies. I.E. Don't do their homework or give them your lunch money.

Good Luck!

i've always been picked on in school, but this past year (my freshman year) was different. in my school, three towns come together the first year there. i made plenty of new and different friends and left behind the kids that used to bug me the most. sometimes i'm in class with them and they try to pick on me, but i just ignore them and don't care!!! i hope you have a great freshmen year!! and don't worry, i'm sure you'll be fine.

Confidence. Don't allow anyone to look down on you, because your worth wayy more than that. And another thing is be as nice as you can.. if anyone tries to bully you they will feel inferior and stupid when they see they don't get the results that they want, which is to make you feel bad. Always remember that God is with you... and He loves you more than you'll ever know. Your not alone.

You could talk with your doctor and parents about losing weight. Find a group of friends and hang out with them.
