It hurts, but not really that bad. It you're piercing your lobes, it's a small pressure (as the needle presses against your ear, gently squishing it), and then a small pinch (as it breaks the outer layer of skin). Get a sharp pencil, and drop the point on the heel of your hand from maybe two or three inches up. That's about what it feels like. If you pierce your cartiliage, there is no small pressure (as the cartiliage isn't squishy as the lobe is), and the quick pinch lasts a little longer (press the point of the pencil into the bony part of the finger, not the knuckle though, that hurts too much).
You clean them by using a solution of a quarter teaspoon of kosher or sea salt dissolved in a glass of water, and gently washing the area with it with a clean washcloth or a cotton swab, and using an anti-bacterial/anti-microbial liquid hand soap, and again, washing it with the washcloth or Q-tip. (washcloths should be used only with captured ball rings, as they might snag on a stud). Washing at least once a day (but no more than twice) is what piercers tend to recommend. Alcohol, peroxide, and antibacterial creams/gels (like Neosporin) are not recommended, as they will aggrivate the piercing, or actually cause infections.

It doesn't hurt too bad. Just a quick type of sting...and then my ears got hot. Most places that pierce ears give you special drops to use to keep them clean. And remember to turn the earrings a couple times a day.

Yes, it hurts, but not as much as childbirth, LOL. Seriously, the pain is minor and doesn't last long. You keep them clean initially with rubbing alcohol, which is applied a couple of times a day until the piercing heals. The site will get crusty during this time. You will need to turn the earring when the alcohol is applied. It's not as bad as it sounds. I had mine done when I was 12. Good luck!

If it is just a regular piercing then it will only hurt for a second, but not all that bad, but the further you go up on your ears then it starts to hurt more. usually the place you go to to get them done they give you a solution to keep them clean, if not the just use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Its easy

I hurts like if you pinch your ear really hard but it only hurts for about 1 minute and then it goes away and will be sore for a couple of days.
Most places you get your ears pierced at (Claire's/ Wal-Mart etc.) will give you some kind of solution that that you use twice a day. But don't use peroxide or alcohol because it will dry your skin out. And I recommend getting just a plain stud and not like a flower or something because flowers are a lot easier to get caught on something and they will pull out and it will really hurt!!

It doesn't really hurt, more like a quick poke. If everyone else can do it, including me, twice, then you could do it. It is very important to keep them clean with alcohol and turn your "stud" earrings to keep them from getting stuck.

it didnt hurt when i got them done. you keep them clean with rubbing alcohol. you just dab some on a cotton ball and rub it over where the new earring is. u should also spin the posts a couple times to get the alcohol in the hole.

It didn't hurt me, just the after math of it all hurt, just when you go to bed don't lay on ur side or anything like that. Clean them daily, or in the morning and afternoon with peroxide, it really helps. and move your earring around some so the hole doens't close around it completely so u can take it off and on.

doesn't hurt at all. to keep them from getting infected, don't take out the earrings for a few weeks, and rub the disinfectant on them regularly. if you're gonna touch it, make sure your hands are clean too....cuz if it does get infected, it is quite uncomfortable
