Hello everyone,
I have a Betta fish and I recently bought him a 10 gallon tank ( I like him alot )
I find that hes always getting "mad" at his refection in the glass, is there a way to stop the reflection? I dont want him getting stressed out too much.

or are there any other suggestions for what I can do to help him clam down.

Thank you

Do you have a scene on the back of the aquarium....sometimes that cuts down on reflection and glare....good luck!

haha, poor betta. 10 gallons is wonderful for your betta. they were not meant to remain in the small confined area pet stores think are fine. i had a betta for a long while that did the same thing once i changed his tank's location. the position of the lights and the tank can make the glass more reflective for the betta. after i got a lamp for the tank, my betta stopped chasing his reflection. the room i changed him to in the first place had a ceiling light that came down on the tank at about an 80 degree angle and the betta would always attack the savage betta that appear on the closest side to the light when the light was on. i hope that makes sense.

putting on background paper helps, too. i have some brown Scotch wrapping paper on the back of my large tank. then i have a small floresent light behind that, so at night i can flip that light on making the tank look like twilight.

I have cichlids and they normally attack the glass at night. It is dark outside of tank and light inside it. This causes the relection. If you have a lamp by the tank then there will be less reflection.

I would try putting those underwater scenes on three sides of the tank, it might help in getting rid of the reflection of your fish

Paste /Place black paper sheet on both side (facing to each other one). this will eliminate he's stress.
But sometimes, he need some workout, do let him have some 'mad' time occasionally.
