Invisible means that other AIM users and those on your buddy list will only see you as OFFLINE

when you're invisible, it means you can see other people and IM them, but they can't see you or IM you unless they know that you are on.

It means you can be logged on messenger but people don't know you're on. Kind of nice if you're looking for someone but you don't want others pestering you at that moment.

It means that others on your friends list can't see that you are online! They will think that you are not online.

It means that you can see all the people on your list, but they can't see you. They don't know that you are signed on and won't be able to send you messages, but you can send messages to them.
