You can get reimbursed. Medicaid workers are very over worked and it is often difficult to get in touch with them. Contact your Medicaid worker by phone (leave a voice mail message if you reach their machine) and tell him/her that you are going to be sending in copies of bills that you would like to get reimbursed for. You will need to submit the bills AND proof that you paid them, you can usually do it by mail, but it is best to bring it down to the office personally if you are able to do that. Send your worker the copies OR the originals, but ALWAYS keep a copy for your self. Keep notes of when you left messages for your worker and when you dropped off information. If you do not hear anything from your worker in two weeks, find out who his/her supervisor is and let them know that you have been trying to get in touch with your worker but they have not yet returned your call. If you still do not hear anything, request a fair hearing. Any notices that you have received from your Medicaid worker should have instructions on how to request a fair hearing. For any bills that you have not paid yet, contact the medical provider (your doctor, lab, etc.) and tell them that your Medicaid is now active and have them bill Medicaid for your unpaid bill. This will only work though if your date of service fell into a time that your Medicaid was activated for. Good Luck.

I think your supposed to get proof of when your coverage started and call the doctor. explain to them the situation and you should get refunded by them cause they will then bill medicaid. also you shouldn't have to pay the $665 if you give them a copy of your insurance now .that's what I did, hope this helps

The state is not going to pay you back any money that you had to pay out for medical expenses while waiting for your Medicaid to start. It does not work like regular insurance and even most commercial insurance won't reimburse you either while you wait for it to kick in.

first of all get receipts of all the drs. appts. blood tests and what you have paid for make two sets of copies one set for you and the other for the workers for when they say they never got them .
you will have your set to show and how much was paided and the make sure you keep good records to show and get your money back and keep on them
