There is a little confusion regarding area and distance in this question. Usually size of grass refers to area, but then you explain that it goes from 2 meters to 4 meters in one day, which refers to length, perhaps radius? But if the radius doubled, then the area would quadruple.

If I pretend that the area is doubling every day, then on the 49th day, the garden was half filled with grass.

If the radius is doubling every day, then on 49 day 12th hour, the garden would be half filled with grass.
