I liked SAW 1 and 2, those were actually suspenseful...I didn't like Hostel.....it was just an excuse to show a porno in the movie theaters, it was so gross.

They have their moments when they scared me, but I think I like them more for the psychological aspect, because you are trying to figure out what's going on the whole movie...I didn't see the end of Saw coming at all...it was a total surprise...and kinda gross...

Movies like '"Saw" and ""Hostel" do scare me. People disappear everyday for no reason and are never found. I do believe that there are a whole bunch of people out there that look wholesome to the eye and they count on their appearance to lure unsuspecting people into their sick world of torture. It does seem like the loud mouth college guy who is a drinker and is constantly foraging for sexual favors from girls, the college girl who has an easy virtue and of course is seeking to be accepted by these types of guys are the ones that are in these rotten situations. They seem to be the flag waving Americans that are being tortured. Maybe these films are a hint to high school and college guys to straighten it up and fly right and the for the high school and college girls to pull up what is left of their self-esteems before selling out to playboy men who only want them for sex. Gals you need to straighten up and fly right as well. Remember you do not often see the truly decent American high school or college kid in these situations.

Hostel wasn't a good movie, sure it had gore and bits, but it was not at all scary (and I saw the dvd uncut version). Shame cause it could have been really good. Saw was much scarier and better.

Movies these days don't really try to scare you anymore. All that stuff really happens, its reality. They just go for shock value and it's weak.
In the Mouth of Madness freaked me out. And I can hardly watch IT from beginning to end.
