I think people should cut him a little bit of slack. I mean, the guy was drunk. He doesn't know what he's saying. He might've had those thoughts but he wouldn't have said them out loud if he weren't drunk. And so what if he thinks that? We're guaranteed freedom of speech as well as freedom of thought. There's people all around who have negative views on Jews, Christians, Muslims, Blacks, Hispanics etc. I think Mel Gibson just said the wrong thing at the wrong time.

I have to agree with Candice M. Drunk driving fatalities in this country have gotten out of hand and despite any sense of sympathy you might feel for someone having a "disease" it's time to quit playing with these people. The man has everything going for him and certainly could always afford alternative transportation, but instead he chose to risk the lives of others and drive drunk. I've always liked Mel Gibson and I especially liked the "Passion" but he did a lot of damage with his comments too. In addition to being grossly unfair to jews he did a disservice to Christians as well. I know nobody is perfect and it's not my place to judge, I'm just very disappointed in him.

His dad passed his views on to him. The Jews did kill Jesus,
or chose for him to die, so a lot of people don't like them.
God loves them and they ARE his chosen people. Who really cares if Mel Gibson screwed up. His movie was designed to make you see the suffering that Jesus went through to save YOU from your sins. I think he is a very fine person, and IF you know of someone that is Perfect enough to get the rating from you, by all means, let everyone know WHO it would be.

I think if it were anybody that was drunk driving that'd be bad. And if anyone yelled that sort of thing about any group of people, that'd be bad. But after all of the critism he recieved after "Passion Of The Christ" and him saying he wasn't anti-semitic and he was merely protraying the movie the way it was written, he is a bit of a hypocrit. I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't have any respect for someone that expresses them like that. And driving drunk is just plain stupid!
