My Bible is my favorite book. It teaches truth and it helps me to know right from wrong. It changes my perspective if I have a wrong attitude about something/anything and am willing to study to learn what it right. It is God's love letter to the people of the world.

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley is the book that changed my perspective on life. It is the story of King Arthur as told through the eyes of the women of Camelot. In the beginning of the book it quotes "thou shalt have no other gods before me", and that caught my attention. What changed my life is the part at the end where the Holy Grail is revealed to a whole room of people and they all see it differently. Each person has their own path to follow. That made me so much more compassionate towards others who are different than me.

I have so many, but here's a sample of the ones that changed my perspective early on - the plays of William Shakespeare, "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger, "1984" by George Orwell, "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka, and the "Tao Te Ching" by LaoTzu. These books influenced my views on society, politics and philosophy and confirmed some of the views I already had.

One of my favorite books is "Where the Red Fern Grows." It is the story of a boy who gets two hunting dogs. While it is geared more towards boys, I cry every time I read the book because the story is more about the love and trust that develops between a child and their pets. I first heard the story when I was in 5th grade and I still love to read it 20 years later.

Brave New World is really good and it's crazy how the book reflects the way things are headed even though it was written in 1932. It reflects a world that sacrifices truth for happiness.

my favorite books are the Harry Potter series. before i read them, i hated reading! i was slow at it, and i just thought it was chore for school and nothing that you would do for fun, but then i read the potter series, and they made me fall in love with reading. now i read as much as i possibly can b/c of those books. i just got completely lost in the story and it made me apreciate how books can take you into other worlds and make you forget about your own for a while. Those books have done so much for me.
