I want to buy a nice fancy, watch (I'm a girl) so I was wondering what the good brands are out there. What's the best? I've heard of Fossil and that's pretty much it. Thanks for the answers :)

Fossil is actually a fashion brand and not necessarily a good watch. A timex will simply hold up better. Bulova is a very nice womens watch. Seiko also holds up very well.

I once bought a fake Rolex in Korea, and when I needed a new battery, my jeweler in the U.S. opened it up and he found that the innards were a Seiko! Paid $30 - that was a GREAT watch!

I'm a watch collector, and I prefer the older windup watches. Most quartz models are throwaways after a few years, even the $450 Coach watches. Your best bet if you want a decent quartz for the price is a Citizen Eco-Drive; cost about $100 on average and it never needs a battery; it's solar powered quartz. My favorite watch? My 1982 men's Rolex Oyster Precision. Bought it from Sumpter's Jewelers in Charlotte, NC. Less than a grand, with box and papers. Prettiest watch? The Honora collection of watches.

I've currently got a TAG Heuer, I've owned high end Seiko (2000 kinetic auto relay, it was a nice watch, but they discontinued that model for some reason). I've used to have a Guess brand too, but I really hated it (just wasn't that well made in comparison to the Seiko). I like the TAG, it's a very clean looking watch, looks good in all dress scenes. It's still not close to the Seiko though, I really miss that watch (was stolen last year).

They're kind of big, even in ladies form, but the Seiko Kinetic series is relatively cheap ($150-250). They don't use batteries because they charge from your regular arm motion. So, unless you sleep for two days straight without moving, or you die, then the watch will never stop.

I have a Fossil, I've had it for at least 4 years, and its actually pretty good. Once the clasp became loose and I brought it to a Fossil store and they fixed it for me... lifetime guaranty I think.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money,Citizen makes good watches. The watch that I currently own,I purchased 20 years ago. It's a 14k gold Omega and it was well worth the expense. It was a gift to myself;so if you want to splurge,Omega,Cartier,Tiffany,
Rolex,Tissinot have good watches but Fossils are good watches, too. If that's the one you want, get it!

I have a Citizen's solar powered ladies' watch. My body chemistry stops a battery powered watch. The solar powered watch has to be in the sun for 15 minutes a month. It keeps great time.

I have Cartier, Seiko, Swatch, SK

Seiko and Casio are some of the trusted brand from Japan and they are affordable too. Many design for young and old.
