The Blue Dogs are the political descendants of a now defunct Southern Democratic organization referred to as the Boll Weevils, who performed a important position within the early Nineteen Eighties by way of assisting President Ronald Reagan's tax reduce plan. The Boll Weevils, in flip, could also be viewed the descendants of the "states' rights" Democrats of the Nineteen Forties via '60s.[three] "Blue Dog Democrat" is derived from the time period "Yellow Dog Democrat." Former Texas Democrat Rep. Pete Geren is credited for coining the time period, explaining that the contributors were "choked blue" by way of "severe" Democrats from the left.[four] The time period could also be a connection with the "Blue Dog" artwork of Cajun artist George Rodrigue of Lafayette, Louisiana; the common contributors of the coalition could almost always meet within the places of work of Louisiana representatives Billy Tauzin and Jimmy Hayes, either one of whom had Rodrigue's artwork on their partitions.[quotation wanted] Tauzin and Hayes later switched to the Republican Party. The Blue Dog Coalition was once shaped in 1994 for the period of the 104th Congress to supply extra conservative contributors from the Democratic celebration a unified voice after the Democrats' lack of Congress in 1994.[five] Now you understand the leisure of the tale!

I'm sure that many D politicians fall into the first category.
Very few in the second (though it seems that many Ds don't want to punish pedophiles)
I'm sure that most Ds truly care about children. However, they don't see how their policies negatively affect them by destroying a stable home thru lack of the requirement of responsibility on the part of BOTH mothers and fathers.
