Well if your grandmother doesn't like him, it's her opinion. But if you loves this guy, you need to stay with him and support him. It sounds like he may need you and you need to be there...

As much as I fear that you will be dissappointed in my answer, I have to side with your grandmother. A young man with a home of his own would have no reason to stay at a ministry. Also, what kind of relationship could you have with someone who has no stable home? Not knowing how old you are, if you are old enough for a more serious relationship, I would hope you would value yourself enough to chose a man who could support you, or share in the responsibilities of owning a home and providing for a family. The brief description of your boyfriend unfortunately suggests he wouldn't.

I say take a break from seeing him for a month or two...if your feelings for each other are deep and true, such a break would only solidify your decision to be together. If not, you've given yourself time to be alone and discover what you truly want. Good luck.

Okay I think that you shouldn't start off in a realtionship were problems are already created. There is nothing wrong with the black and white issue, I think it is more of the homeless issue. Is he making an effort to get out of the situation he is in? As far as your grandmother goes, we know how much older people think about mixing races. That is just there way of thinking, my grandmother is the same way. Good luck on your situation, hope this helps.

just like all black guys want a white gull, all black gulls want a white boy. some blacks are more racist than any white I have ever met. and it's not ok to be black and be a racist, grandma is smacking her lips at the very thing she is complaining about. racism is not good regardless of how you justify it. prejudice means to pre judge, why should granny prejudge people? blacks have a terrible odor to most white folk even though they bathe every day. don't let granny make a racist out of you.
