When the Earthquake hit Gothammuch of the Wayne Manor fell into the cave leaving a gaping whole in the estate. Also the Batcave was pretty much destroyed. Has it ever been explaiend how this was taken care of. To restore and renovate the cave in a short period of time it would take a lot of man power and resources. Also how was the Manor rebuilt while keeping the cave a secret?

It is true that Wayne Manor was entirely destroyed and much of the cave network underneath it collapsed. However, it is unclear the extent to which the actual cave was damaged or just the entrances to it and some parts of it. Some writers have suggested that the Batcave has been built as a nuclear bunker, and should be able to survive any disaster. That said, it is true that part of the cave was damaged, and would require repairs. The most likely course of events is that Batman rebuilds his house through the normal means, taking care that none of the workers wander. Then, once they are finished, he goes about the task of altering it as to provide entrance to the gave. It would be fairly easy to keep the cave a seceret if you just took precautions before hand. Make sure nothing Bat related was poking out, and tell the workers not to go down there because the cave is unstable. For the rebuilding of the cave himself, Batman has quite the team to assist him. In addition to himself, at that time he could have called on Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, Azreal, and Alfred. I have not read the story recently, but I believe Harold, the man Batman hired to permanently take care of the cave may have been able to help as well. Harold was responsible for the total maintains of the cave and Bat equipment for several years, and was famous for fixing things. He would have probably been the point person to fix the cave, though he left Batman's world around that time.

Even if he used private contractors, he would've been fine. All he had to do was stash the batstuff at another location (like Cable, he has a few safehouses)and then hire the contractor to fix the cave. In the DC Universe, the rich seem to be a into safes and stuff and all he had to do is pretend the cave was there to house valuables. I also wouldn't be surprised if Bruce Wayne knows the names of the same guys that can keep their mouths shut as Lex Luthor. Just a thought of course.

He did get a private contractor, but here is how the Batcave works. Bruce hired the private contractors to help him build his house, but they did not help him out with the Batcave. Alfred, Fox, and I believe another party helped Bruce create the Batcave. This was done so that no one would know where it was and who Batman was.

It seems the disaster recovery division of Wayne Industries hired a lot of illegals that spoke no English that season....

Maybe Superman owed him a favor!
