okay so if it is on the charger it works if it is plugged into the computer it shows like it is charging and itunes does not come up or anything, i am new to all this i just got this from a friend who no joke never jsued it once i jsut want it to wrok please hlep me

the battery is dead, beyond rechargeability, you can recharge them when they get low but after a while they will become unable to be recharged, thats why you really shouldn't by an ipod, they go wrong and apple will do anything to get your money, no matter how dissatisfied you are.
if it isnt too late, you should return you ipod and get a creative zen vision M. it is much better.

It might be a dead battery or it might just be "frozen." Apple Ipods lock up a lot. So try plugging it into the computer, then hold down the "menu" and the round center button for at least 10 seconds, this will, in a way, "restart" the ipod. If that doesnt work i would bring it back or to a repair shop. Good Luck

maybe the batterie is dead.. just leave it in for awhile
and to have itunes come up when you plug it in i think you have to chose if you want it to start when ipod gets plugged in.
