Yeah. Treat it well, and handle it often, and give it things to chew on like those wooden sticks and hard treats. That should solve the problem, and your pet should out grow it. Good luck!

Often guinea pigs bite because they think you are food. Is it biting you meanly, or only when it thinks you have something in your hand? If it is biting you meanly, you have a lot of work to do if you don't want it to bite you anymore. I've bred guinea pigs for a year and have never had one bite meanly, so I can't say exactly what you should do if this is the case. Usually guinea pigs will just run away from you if they are frightened.

If your guinea pig is biting because it thinks you have food (the more common reason), simply do not feed it from your hand anymore, and make sure you wash your hands of all food smells before handling your guinea pig.

If it does bite you, let out a loud SQUEAK and pull back sharply to let the guinea pig know that that wasn't a carrot, that was your finger! Sometimes they just don't know it's you. Good luck!

It is very unusual for guinea pigs to bite unless they are very afraid or are being hurt. Gently scoop guinea pigs up in 2 hands and cradle them against your chest so they feel secure. They can't jump, and are afraid of being held loosely. Talk quietly to him and offer him special treats while being held.

If your guinea pig is a young one, the more you get it used to human contact (handling), the less chance it will bite. Guinea pigs will bite if they feel threatened, so be calm around it.
