First, get an test that will predict your Ovulation Cycle. Then when you figure out your cycle each month, abstain from having sex a seven days prior to the peak in your cycle. The cycle is usually 10 after your period to 10 days before your next period, but the kit is well worth it.
you didn't state the reason for the low sperm count, but a prostate infection is the most common. A doctor can check for that fairly cheaply. They would have noticed it right off when doing the sperm count.
Abstaining from sex is the best way for the little swimmers to build up a count. I've also read that keeping the scrotum sack cooler will help. If hubby has a hot job, that may be cause of a low sperm count, boxers instead of briefs will let the sack hang out away from the body, thus keeping the body from heating it up with normal body temp. The temp. in the sperm sack is suppose to be cooler than the body temperature. Good Luck

Increase Sperm Count with Natural Herbs and Supplements - A natural sperm pill ?
There are several herbs and nutrients that can help you make more sperm.
Maca is an herb found in the Andes mountains in South America, and also known as a libido booster. A study was designed to determine the effect of a 4-month oral treatment with tablets of Maca on seminal analysis in adult normal men aged 24-44 years old. Nine men received tablets of maca (1500 or 3000 mg per day) for 4 months. Treatment with maca resulted in increased seminal volume, sperm count per ejaculation, and sperm motility, which would indicate positive effects on fertility.
Carnitine and acetylcarnitine are nutrients that helps sperm motility.
Fish oils could help increase sperm volume

Loose underwear. I have always heard that wearing tight underwear brings the testicles too close to the body and raises the temperature causing there to be a low sperm count - sperm need to be kept cool.
