Absolute change.
Why = civil war.
I will explain:
What all sides are failing to see is that because we are not wanted there by most of the Iraqis, they are going to rebel against any form of government that we support. This will inevitably defeat our purpose.
So even if we forced some sort of democratic governmental system on them, this is going to result in a civil war. Then what do we do? Once civil war breaks out, it is another Vietnam where you have civilians fighting in the streets and you don't know who the enemy is. The civilians that we are there to protect.
The only way to fix this situation is to pack up and get out now. They have their government that they voted for. They have their constitution. We need to get out now and let them work out the rest.

So let's leave Iraq. The consequences might be something like this. The Islamic extremists of the likes that killed thousands of Americans 9/11 would be cheering their victory worldwide, they would be emboldened, I confidently say they would immediately go on the offensive as I believe them when they say they want America destroyed as well as all western societies. Study their religious fanaticism and their stated goals before you doubt that statement, take their word for it, not mine. Next forget the import of oil from the middle east, that $3 per gallon gas you are whining about goes to $10 per gallon and people lose their jobs and hunger starts to be an issue. Civil war breaks out shortly in this country because of the blame game that leads us into a starving nation. Forget your stocks and bonds and many can forget the house they were buying. Forget the lifestyle as you know it because this nation is extremely dependent on the import of middle east oil and so is the rest of the world. No, I think I say stay the course and keep the middle east as safe as possible. You come up with an answer to the fanatic extremist islamics that want us dead and want the results I just described. Wake up people, we are at war and even if you are unable to accept it, we didn't start it, we (the United States) was attacked by fanatics who are in all the middle eastern countries including Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, on and on and on. We did not start this hatred but your blame game is giving strength to the enemies who did. Remember Islamic fascism wasn't Bushes idea and Americans better start uniting against this fanatic bunch of misguided nuts before it is too late.

Seems to be workin' pretty good so far.
Let's see, this course began with an impotent dictator who kept a brutal peace among his countrymen, US soldiers fighting in Afghanistan, killing terrorists, gas prices at less than $1.50.
Over the course of this boondoggle, we now have too few troops in Afghanistan to even protect the capital, looming trillion dollar deficits, gas at $3.00 a gallon, avg 100 Iraqis killed per day, 2500 US soldiers killed, brink of civil war, infrastructure deteriorating AND being blown up, pissed off Arabs all over the world.
Yeah, this course is just peachy. At this rate, Iraq should just be a blank spot on the map by the end of the decade and will have sucked America's resources and military into its black hole, too.

There is no other option but to stay and finish what we have started. Whether you agree or disagree with the current policy or not. Our word, our honor and our role as a key player in world events hinges on our finishing what we have started. If our administration, or the new one coming in in 2008 abruptly stops what we have started no one will trust us to ever finish anything we start. No matter how unpleasant, how hard or how much we dislike it. We must remain committed to our word as a nation......the alternative is far worse if we quit.

Change course. It's a disaster - the troops are bogged down trying to get cheap oil while real threats (Iran, North Korea) are surfacing.
