Who would have thought that 4 months ago?

I know there is still 2 months left to play, and anything can happen.

But seriously, all The Tigers have to do is go 29-29 the remainder of the year to win 99 games.

While the white sox have to go 38-21 to win 99 games.

The Tigers are SO for real, and will go far in the post season.
(assuming 99 games will win The Central).

With the Tigers in 1st place, it still is unbelievable what kind of year they're having. 4 months ago, I would have been saying .500 at best, but Leyland has them playing outstanding baseball. The pitching has been there all year and the offense is hitting the ball in the clutch to win games that they're supposed to win.

I think it's going to take more than 99 wins to get the titile because eventually, the White Sox will get their ship righted and when they do, look out. I see 103 wins getting it done in the Central with the White Sox getting the wild card.

Super Junk here. I hate to say this, but I don't think the Tigers will make the playoffs. The bullpen is weak. Roney has been having problems and Jones is a liability at closer. Verlander is bound to come down with an injury and Thames isn't slugging like he did early in the year. The Tigers have had a nice run, but I expect a major collapse shortly. On a more positive note, you could switch over to my team: The San Diego Padres. The Padres are in first place and, unlike the Tigers, they are only getting better. Players such as Cameron, Roberts, Gonzalez, Peavy, and Young clearly dwarf the best Detroit has to offer. If you join the Padre faithful now, you won't have to suffer through the imminent detroit meltdown. That's all Super Junk has to say. Thanks.

You've got a great coach there guy and he's got the posse assembled and clickin on one heart.

Now, we're into the dog days where endurance and perseverance will buy the ticket. Roughin it out in the Central should put em over the top for the playoffs and beyond.

Regardless of how this chapter ends for Tigers, congratulations to the entire organization and the fans for composing what might be the MLB story of the year.

The tigers still have a losing record against playoff teams from last year They may make the playoffs but will probably loose early. Don't forget, Cleveland had a big lead over the White Sox with to weeks left last year before they swallowed a big chicken bone!

This just proves that miracles do happen.

But, the Tigers have some good young talent and whether they're good enough to go all the way remains to be seen.

They also have one of the best and underrated managers in the majors in Jim Leyland and I'd love to see him take the team all the way. Why not?

Anybody but big-mouth Guillen over in Chicago!!

The tigers have an excellent chance to play in the post season. They are playing great baseball. But it's July 31, not August 1, and the Padres are in first place!

OK I believe now, but the playoffs I'm' not to sure because I'm not counting my chickens just yet for a world series, , the reason the pistons and wings did not do it this year and they had the best records in their sports, so I wait and see.

The Tigers look for real.

BTW, what is going on with Shelton? Why did they send him to in minors?
