I have not lived in a trailer but my friend is going to rent one in a trailer park, Most of the trailers seem to be in the 70 and 80 model range, Do you think she will have a problem with roaches and mice? I heard they live and bread underneath?

umm... the rats and bugs are caused from people being nasty. an exterminator, could help the problem. As with any older home, you may have vermin to deal with. Just because it is a trailer....that has nothing to do with anything. Tell her to see about renting a newer one...maybe in the year 2000 range. Some manufactured housing models are very nice, and nicer than some larger houses..glamour bathrooms with garden tubs, master bedrooms, spacious closets. ect. As far as thinking every mobile home has roaches, that is like being prejudiced

I have a friend who has lived in a mobile home for many years, and she has never had an insect or rodent problem. I guess it depends on where the home will be placed...in the woods, in the fields, what state, etc.

i have many friends who live in mobile homes and they don't have roaches or rats and a few of them have mobile homes that look better than a lot of high class houses

There is nothing inherent in the building which would attract pests, therefore I would look instead at the typical inhabitant you have encountered.

Been living in one for 22yrs. and i have never had a roach,i did have one mouse---( Trap got it).
