This video shocked me, beware it is very graphic- but I think it is crucial that we know what animals go through before being slaughtered. What can be done to prevent this from happening? I am not stating we should all become vegetarians but these poor animals should be treated more humanely. Perhaps all us meat eaters should come together and avoid eating meat even for only one day so these inhumane and greedy people get the message. Something needs to be done, it is horrific!
Please watch but beware it may shock you, if you are bothered by too graphic videos do not watch but we need to to know what is going on before we eat our next steak and nuggets.

Heather,You may see my question posted in different categories, the reason being I am looking for different opinions from people of different interests. Sorry if this bothers you, is there a limit on how much I can post? If yes, I was not aware of it, so I will not do this again.

I watched the link...horrifying. I actually cried during the last couple of minutes. Maybe because I have a heart and I love animals for their innocence.

I thank you for that link. I live in dairy land Janesville, WI. I believe the way they treat their animals here (on the farms) is different than that of meat chains (like Tyson or Jenni-O or so on..).

I still love a great steak and won't be able to live without one. We are omnivores, though - that is what our bodies were created for. I do agree that meat is pretty filthy - check out the skin of a vegetarian sometime- glowing and healthy.

I think we are in a lose-lose situation. We are human and part of our natural instinct is to hunt for meat, kill the animal and enjoy the food. We also are money hungry so most companies that slaughter animals will do whatever they can - whether legal or not - to get as much money in their pocket as possible. You can't really change the minds of these company owners.

I can't imagine being a person that works in one of these places or even BEING AROUND a person like this. It is absolutely disgusting and you have to be a sick twisted psycho to cut an animal's throat for a living. No wonder where we get our serial killers, rapists and murderers.

I believe that the animals should be treated better. I only buy organic foods and meat that is raised free roaming. They are not stuck in a pen or cage, and the chickens are free range also for the eggs I buy. I know that the video is harsh but most farmers do not treat their animals bad...it is their living and I think alot of this happens in big corporations... I know that Tyson has been fined before for violations.

I have seen the video before and it is very sick...just because we eat these animals does not mean we have to torture them first. My parents raise and slaughter pigs and chickens and turkeys but they do it in a humane manner and the animals are NOT treated like on that video, they have good lives and are killed quickly and relatively painlessly...not anything like on that video. I agree that we should do something but as you can see from some of the posts people dont care enough and they dont see it enough to affect them..out of sight out of mind... I hope someday we will treat them better but there is not much you can do to change the attitude of ignorant people who refuse to look and see what cruelty is done to the animals we eat that is needless torture before taking thier lives... I hope it ends someday.

Ah, you're posting this on a whole bunch of places, I see. You know that's trolling...? I suggest joining PETA if you haven't already. I am against animal cruelty, but I am realistic in knowing that people aren't going to stop eating meat because animals are being killed for it.

I'm not very sensitive, but this made me feel sick.
I live in Europe and I have seen similar pictures from our industry, but I think this was worse.
I don't know if we have better legislation, or if it is only a more disgusting film.

Thanks for the link. I will send it to my friends.

Your post should start with a question. But since it is not a question but a biased post about a biased, edited and slanted video, I say go find an appropriate forum for your views.
