First off I'd look out for who seems shy and needing introductions: some people need to be introduced to make them feel comfortable. You are inviting these dudes and will need to step in to make sure everyone has a good time, not just the extroverts: if someone is quiet, ask them for their opinion; if they are off to the side looking like a wallflower, invite them into a group.
Choose the music to match the people you have invited and don't let people hijack the stereo. Vary the music with stuff everyone will like, not just your own taste.
Loud music and beer is ok but plan for a couple of people that don't want to drink alcohol: having some non-alcoholic drinks around as a break from beer etc will make for a longer party too.
Have some eats around or ask people to bring something (or do a collection for pizza!).
It's uncool, but I have to mention the alcohol thing again: look out for your buddies: with alcohol around even level-headed people can be at risk. If people are new to drinking, check in on them. If people go overboard, step in and suggest a break: nothing will ruin your party quicker that vomiting and alcohol poisoning. It IS possible to distract bad drunks and make them take a break from boozing. I have learnt through experience that legendary drinking reputations are fleeting, but a scar is forever: keep it all safe.
Keep a lookout for gatecrashers and do the responsible thing if they won't leave: discreetly call the cops - nothing is worse than watching your place get trashed because some gatecrashers take offence at being asked to leave. Ask your mates to bring only people they know and not too many.
If you can, drink heaps of water before bed: do it BEFORE you sleep and you will feel way better the next day.

common sense. If you got beer at party and someone drive home drunk and crashes and dies are you really going to want that on your conscience the rest of your life. and if the cops are called that might be on your record forever making in harder to get a job later on. Come on. Be a little smarter than the average teenager, use your head

Come up with a theme...Hawain, love, superheroes etc...
Some decorations go quite well....
Have some nibblies, chips, dips, etc....
A very good selection of music, at it can make or break a party and chairs for people to sit around while not dancing...
In addition to the bear, maybe make a nice alcoholic punch...
Ingredients: 1cup of scotch or brandy
1cup of midory
3cups of lemonade or mineral water
add tropical fruit juice until desired taste...
cut up pieces of apple, orrange, grapes &
strawberies and add them in with some passionfruit.

you need a realy big variety of music from hip hop 2 rock and you need FOOD definatly. invite lots of people, make sure you have a large space so every1 can mingle. but keep it all outside as possible cuz you dont want anythin damaged in tha house. and also let your neighbours now that you are gonna hav loud music till like 12 or sumthin so there not gettin pissed and callin tha police.....N JUST HAV FUN!!!

Offer food and possibly a couple of fun games (euchre tournament) or goof-off type games (but nothing too childish). You can have a theme and decorate. Definitely enlist some "dd's" (designated drivers) to drive people home afterwards or have everybody stay over.

If it's in the summer- outside is better- good music for sure, cups for beer (not glass), chairs, tables, snacks, and cute people!
