I am a petite, slender woman, size 0, 1, or 2. Hard to fit and a person of very modest means. (I buy from thrift shops.) Thank you for your response!

I don't have an answer for you, but am very interested in the responses. I also am petite and have difficulty finding clothes to fit. Sometimes I can get away with buying a large girl's size, but often the proportions are wrong. Usually, the best way is to go to "high-end" stores at the end of the season and pick up some good sales.

I live in Germany, there is a big company here called "Burda" who makes patterns and publishes books & magazines about sewing. They regularly have articles in their magazines with tips on how to alter ready-made clothing.

Check your local library - maybe they have subscriptions to Burda's English-language magazines, or maybe they have their books?

There is also a great book, Sewing For Dummies - your library probably has that.

You may also want to check your local community college - mine here has sewing courses, including how to alter clothing. They do cost money, but once you learn, you can save a lot of money!

waiting made clothing. the only subject i've got found is that a length 8 gown continually seems to be somewhat tight around the chest and shoulders yet different than that each little thing is high quality.
