Funny story... the first time I noticed the C on his shirt, I asked my then boyfriend, a Red Sox fan, if the C on Varitek's jersey stood for catcher!

No Varitek isn't the only baseball player that wears a C for captain.

John Franco wears a C
Mike Sweeney wears a C

Right now he is, I think earlier when John Franco was on the Mets he wore the captain sign, as did Piazza. I think it is becoming a lot less popular among today's players.

Maybe you only get the "C" if you are both the captain and a catcher.....tell your boyfriend that.

YES HE IS , I believe he thinks he is playing hockey, but that cant be because he is to big of a wus to play that sport
