Egr valve is most likely the problem. Make sure if you have it replaced to clean the egr valve port they clogg up most of the time.

Good answer. Also be sure that the passages to the EGR are not blocked with carbon or sludge.
It would help knowing wheter this car has a 2.5L 4 cyl, a 3.3L V6 or some other monstrosity.

1-EGR valve or tube
2-Oxygen sensor
3-Catalytic Converter
4-Terra clean

check the coolant as well..if it is running too hot it will effect nox
