I doubt is it using 40% when it is off. But after you power down your computer you can unplug it, or just turn off your power surge protector.

confident it may. Years back lightning struck my mothers and fathers residing house above the storage. It took a bite out of the tie beam in 2 places 20' aside. Killed one burner on the range. Vaporized the prongs on a lamp plugged into an extension twine interior the front room and took out the means supply to a VCR in a mattress room seventy 5' from the storage. Lightning and means surges can do very unusual issues. 2 issues to contemplate. a million) a UPS (uninterrupted means supply) for the computing device with equipped-in surge safety. only be sure to bypass your information superhighway line by using it. On 2 activities I certainly have been to properties that were hit by using lightning. the two purchasers had some form of surge safety on the one hundred twenty volt part of their computers. yet neither of them ran the telephone/cable by using them. the two computers suffered extreme injury as a effect. 2) lightning injury coverage by using your electric business enterprise. some funds a month gets you $2,000 or greater in coverage for all your home equipment and electronics. I certainly have it. wish this helped.
