Don't you just love irony?

Question

Give me an example of something you think is ironic.

Answer 1

A car is stalled on the freeway.
A man stops to help the stranded motorist,
and is able to get them on their way again.
As he is walking back to his car,
he gets hit by a car, and dies.

A team of emergency workers
pull off the icy freeway, to assist
a car that has slid into the guard rail.
As they are walking towards the wreck,
another car slides into the group,
and pins one of them to the guard rail.
He loses both of his legs.

A young fireman that is off duty,
hears the emergency call on
his scanner, and goes to help.
He rushes into the burning house
and brings out a little girl, and her dog.
He rushes back into the house, only
to have something fall on him, and
knock him out. He died.

These are all true stories, that
happened in my home town recently.

Ok...now this is a sore subject with me!

The most ironic thing in the universe...That the song "Ironic" by Alanis Morrisette doesn't contain ONE PIECE OF IRONY! It contains many examples of bad luck, but now irony. Where's the irony in someone getting a black fly in their chardonnay? Or 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife?

My favorite...I once heard someone who was laying on a bed say, "I'm too tired to get ready for bed."

Myself and a guy friend have been kickin it for some time and i had been tryin to end the friends w/ benefits parts for some time and then he was not having it and just as he is trying to "move on" from that area in our friendship i agree and let hi in on my decision to do the "same" and he has the nerve to say it was cool and he was trying to wein himself of off me and such... now he says after this discussion that he will4ever remain friends w/ me b/c we are CLOSE but when i call him the same day he doesn't return a call and not the next say either :-( then i text him and he says time and space is the best for now.... What the hell just happened? Please tell me???

Being charged the same outrageous prices the tourists are charged on the island where you live , when it's the locals who keep the supermarket making money during the other 9 months of the year.

I think it is halarious. Like one time someone said that it wasn't going to rain all this week, then like on cue, a lightning bolt cracked through the sky and was raining moments later. Ha ha, its so funny when I look back on it.

And the fact that the guy who plays bugs bunny is allergic to carrots.

I met my best friend in Kindergarten. We were practically joined at the hip through school. She got married, I moved away (yadda, yadda). We hadn't seen each other at all for a few years.

I'm a "local" again and she and I work together! Probably always will. (If we survive our careers, I hope we will grow old together.)
