Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people each year. As little as a tablespoon can be fatal. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe - often irriversable - damage to body tissue. Most of the deaths are cuased by accidental inhalation of DHMO. DHMO is an assential componant of a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as sulphuric acid, nitroglycerine and ethyl alcohol. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependant, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.

DHMO is often used as:
Industrial solvent and coolant
In nuclear powerstations
in the production of styrofoam and other poisonous chemicals
to enhance the growth of genetic crops
fire retardant
cruel animal research
distribution of pesticides
additives in specific junkfoods.

I wouldn't support an outright ban since I work with the stuff in its purest form (which I will add is acidic), but regulation is definitely needed. As a precaution, I has next to our pure DHMO dispenser an MSDS for the substance that I try to get everyone to read, just so they know to be careful. (Seriously!)

However, I think that we should really talk about a ban on concentrated hydric acid, which a large release of the chemical killed more people in Indonesia in one day in 2004 than all of the nuclear accidents worldwide put together in history.

Sad thing is that 80% of the general public would vote to ban it. Studies have been done by many hs students for their science fairs and the results were tallied to such.

Just shows a little ignorance, and lack of own research, goes a long long way.

Lets try a test ban on you first and see how it goes then call in a study team to truly consider it. Might want to go after that nasty gas dioxide as well

yes. i believe banning this stuff would solve lots of problems:wars, famine, disease and baptisms, etc. no more tears. i believe someday DHMO will be replaced with DLiMO.

Nope. I'm so addicted to the stuff that I really need it. If you can find a way to help me with my addiction then I will support your stance :P

not real sneaky. 2 hydrogens and 1 oxygen in a molecule is water. duh.

is this all you have to do with your time?
