I draw them longhand, and have been photographing them..any suggestions on how to maybe get a program which has figures I can use and add my words, etc...

First of all, if you think you are bad at it, why do you do it? Do you like drawing? If so, keep doing it. The best way to get better at drawing is to draw from life, and practice, practice, practice!! The more you draw, the better you'll get - guaranteed. And don't be so down about it! If you have confidence in your abilities it will come through in your artwork.

As for a computer program, use photoshop. You can scan in your drawings and add text using the text tool into the 'bubbles' you leave blank in your drawing. However, your lines will have to be pretty sharp in order for the text to fit in nicely with the drawing. Worry about the pictures first. I always enjoy hand written words in comics anyway...it's more interesting.
