Sometimes it's hard to separate superstitions from traditions. Superstitions are magic that can cause good luck or bad luck, and are not true.
Traditions are like ceremonies that give extra meaning to a special occasion, and are followed to focus our thoughts and energies. They are real.

I hate superstitions. I have some friends who do crazy stuff when it comes to superstitions and they won't accept the fact that they are being silly.

Not seriously, but I am like you, I have gone out of my way to follow some of them. Like not walking under a ladder that is propped up beside the wall, but if I did walk under that ladder, I really don't think anything bad would happen.

That was big in my house, not sure I believe all of them. My grandmother used to tell us, don't open an umbrella in the house. Something about salt and throwing it over your shoulder. Don't let a Herts (sp?-the car that's used to carry a dead body from a wake to the cemetary). Don't walk under a ladder. On and on and on....

I don't believe in superstitions, but they can be fun. Like avoiding cracks in the sidewalk, or praying to god.

No and if you do you'll tend to focus on them.
If you live in fear, you'll be more prone to wasting unnecessary energy and attention to these trivial things.
