Why do some people seem to be stuck in the early 1900's?! Why should it matter to anyone else, if a guy loves another guy, or a female loves another female?

There is no doubt in my mind it's is the work of religious fundamentalists - Christians and Muslims primarily - but only because they got the idea from the Jewish Bible - the Old Testament. (yes thats where all the muslim fundamentalist behaviour comes from.)

Until goverments stop giving in to these bigots and tell them that just because a few decrepid old men objected to homosexuality a few thousand years ago does not make it OK to be prejudice today.

There is overwhelming evidence that many animals practice and enjoy same sex relationships and that some even change sex. The Romans and Greeks practiced homoxexuality - it was just the dark ages when things changed and there are a lot of people still stuck back in the dark ages.

One simple plan is to make sure that every on in the world has a lesbian, gay bisexual and trans friend - then it will be very difficult for them to be prejudice - that is why I tell everyone I meet I am trans and do what I can to educate them about what trans is all about.

Hi Liam, I live and work in a none tourist area called Isan NE Thailand. Here there are zero prejudices against such things and half the men are bi or openly gay. People love the lady boys and they even have lady-boy beauty shows. I have a gay worker at my hedonistic resort, and some of those so called straight guys out there, well, when no ones looking they are not so straight. I am trying to have gay/bi/lesbian parties, but I have no idea where to start, I can find tons of locals, but they all want a European boyfriend or girlfriend. Maybe if you check out my 360, only if you are over 18, you can tell me how to start. Living in an area with no tourists, means there are very few cases of sexual diseases in this remote area, I think that it's the tourists who don't care to use protection, and visit all the bars of the south, that spread diseases. The local lady-boys would love to see cross dressers from Europe. Do you know of any sites? www.resortcaroline.com is my resort, do you think an all gay month would work here? Sorry if I am barking up the wrong tree. There are so many intolerant people out there, unless you fit neatly into their pigeon holes, they despise and hate you. The worst offenders are the so called Christians, they are so violent, threatening and wishing others to burn in Hell, not very Christian of them, some sound more like terrorists to me.

Humans are just naturally prone to prejudice...perhaps as a products of their environment. Either way, many are too stubborn and close-minded to accept the changing world, because let's face it, at the pace the world has changed in the last two decades...it's pretty scary, and surely it will result in some resistance. In many parts of the world, we are only beginning to iron out the racial prejudice, let alone the sexual orientation one. As more and more people are born into this as being the norm, prejudice will begin to disintegrate in that area. However, unfortunately, it is very likely that humans will find something new to be predudice about (look at the way American society is turning more and more against smokers)

Some say that racism was the battle of the 20th Century and that gay rights will be the battle of the 21st. I believe this is right in some ways and wrong in others. First of all racism will never be completely eliminated. There will always be those who hold prejudices and discriminate against others because of race. I'm also afraid to say that it will be the same for gay rights. Some people have opened their arms wide and accepted us with no problem and others will never doubt their thinking of a gay lifestyle being a sin or abomination.
Let me also say that I completely agree with you. It should not matter if a man loves a man or a woman loves a woman, all that should matter is that they are happy together. We need more people like you to help this revolution for gay rights proceed and evolve our closed minded world.

Because prejudice is basically a primitive human survival tactic to avoid predators or other threats...in modern humans there's always some artificial substitute focus for prejudice...oddly enough these days one of those is intolerance and prejudice :) But it takes a while to turn a whole culture's focus off one target and onto another...it will come in time, probably. It matters to other people because they see the widespread acceptance of homosexual behaviour as the breakdown of things that they hold to be essential in their society, for social, religious, political or sexual reasons. My personal opinion is not included above!

Well i don't care, whatever floats ya boat I'm straight but have no issues with gays, nor do i have issues with people of a different religion or ethnic background. the only thing i do not like is when someone has a chip on there shoulder because they are different to what people call the so called norm and want everyone to know about it.
I heard someone saying to a person, you pick on me cos I'm black. The fact that this person was negligent in what they were doing seemed to have passed them by.

Because there so called Christians preaching hate every where you look. Until people are strong enough to not have the need to follow these demigods the world will not be a safe place.

That seemed like poetry to me. If only the rest of the world thought like you,it would possible be a happier place...but it is human nature to gossip. gossip is a way of dividing people and forming status i guess. the world would be a dull place if everybody: looked, thought or even ate the same...
this was a good philosophical question.

I think if we all lived to be a thousand you will still get the bigots who think people been gay is wrong and that they should be ousted from society, I reckon they need to get with the flow and mind their own damn business, just remember its love that makes the world go round and not the bigots, be yourself and ignore the sad blinkered people of this world, be happy.

Because people are probably so insecure about themselves and have to worry about other people. They are close-minded people that think this is the right way to do it and if you don't, bad things will happen. Unfortunately these kind of ideas won't go away. Just try to keep yourself away from those kind of people...
