I have not mudded drywall before and have plenty of tape of both varieties as well as multi purpose premixed mud and unmixed mud.

I am a drywall contractor. Mesh tape is not acceptable in any professional application. It cracks much easier and usually the adhesive eventually comes loose. Use the regular tape with an all purpose joint compound. Make sure the tape has a thin coat of mud under it or it will buble up in the places where there is no mud.

Mesh Tape - with adhesive. I am a do-it-yourselfer and I have discovered through trial and error that the mesh tape is by far the easiest of the two. Additionally, it does help to put a SMALL amount of joint compound under the tape as well but it is still much easier to handle than the paper "tape".

I watched the video on the product because I have never heard of it and am always looking for new and inventive products. I am sure that with a lot of practice it would be as easy to apply as the guy in the video does it. But from my experience at putting up preglued border I don't see a real advantage to it for residential use. I think that in commercial applications it would be a benefit. BUT what about a track record against cracking down the road? I didn't see anything that said 5 years and still no cracks? By skipping the first layer of mud means your seem will not be as thick, makes me skeptical of long term performance. I think it might let cracks develop faster with house movement that occurs over time. I intend to look into this product further.

Use pre mixed mud with regular tape. The paper kind. It works much easier. just put a light coat of mud on,lay the tape using a smooth motion and the knife. The mesh answers just do not know any better.

Use the paper tape. All Pre-mix joint compound manufactures require it. If you use the mesh with pre-mix, it has a tendency to crack
