For one thing they all grow up and forget everything and become grumpy old men who quote "have no stories to tell there children" and the mother dies and quote "was long forgotten" whats up with that!? plus nana the dog dies too.
And tinkerbell dies too!! And Peter dose not even remember her! oh, and he dosent remember captain hook either!
if you havent read the book (the unadapted version) you should get it and read the last chapter ................ its a real shocker.....

I felt the author's point was that most people lose the open minds and joy of childhood as they grow up. Sad to think, but probably true.

In the book I read...and in the online version I read...no such thing occurs...the other little boys from Never Never land grow up, but Peter stays forever young. The role of 'mother' changes through the generations...but Peter stays Peter.

As you look at Wendy, you may see her hair becoming white, and her figure little again, for all this happened long ago. Jane is now a common grown-up, with a daughter called Margaret; and every spring cleaning time, except when he forgets, Peter comes for Margaret and takes her to the Neverland, where she tells him stories about himself, to which he listens eagerly. When Margaret grows up she will have a daughter, who is to be Peter's mother in turn; and thus it will go on, so long as children are gay and innocent and heartless.

I enjoy the basic story of Peter Pan, and I adore Tinker Bell, but I too dislike the final chapter of the original book. However, Peter's heartlessness and selfishness is the point: In remaining forever young, he also remains forever self-centered and will forget those who have passed him by.
