Growing up no doubt. One must learn a degree of respect. I don't know how many of us are born with it.

Unless one is a contrary person, a lack of respect often comes from not knowing what is expected.

I have lost respect for a number of people; but still would not disrespect them as people think of disrespect today.

Disrespect today robs the influence of another person.
To take away a persons influence is a form of murder. The exact same reason that results in most physical murders.

When you disrespect someone, you are attempting to do a little killing that no one will notice. And everybody thought you were so nice.

You might say murder is just disrespect turned up to 100 per cent. Now you know why you did it.

Disrespect comes with anger. If one gets angry, he is bound to get disrespectful.

Also depends on your defination of disrespect. To some, disrespecting might be calling them a really bad name or yell at them and they might not think calling "stupid" is too disrespectful because the word "stupid" comes in everyday conversation. And some might think calling someone "stupid" is disrespectful.

Is this making any sense?

So disrespect comes and goes...the important thing is to apologize afterwards.

Yes, my mother. I still disrespect her until now.

Because she was, and is still, a F****** B****.

I got my own life now....my own family....and I won't allow her to influence my life anymore because she is an evil person and not worthy to give advice to me, my family or anyone.

I as much as I appreciate all points of view that tell me I'm wrong on this matter....thanks, but I've made my decision and it has made me totally happy. Peace to all even to my "mother" even if she doesn't deserve it.

My wife says I do all the time, especially to her. Yes, I know why, and you wouldn't like the reason. No, I seldom apologize.

Yes, I have dissed a number of people in my life. Why? Because in my opinion they did not deserve respect, and I felt this deeply enough to voice my opinion openly, to them, directly, in order that they may see themselves and others may see them too. We all of us have personal policies and basic beliefs, our own moral ethical judgement values, some of them are universal, they are believed in by everyone, or nearly everyone, and some of them are more unique, more personal. When some one goes against a universally acceptable policy I feel we have a duty to diss them, don't you?

Yes. I had an alcoholic boss once, kept screwing things up. He'd just have a few more drinks at lunch, keep on going. Until his boss figured it out and fired his as*.

No. As much as I can, I want to treat everybody fair in square with due respect. There is a saying that, "Give respect to gain respect".
