James Bond can be cast as a blond as the hair colour does not get a mention (to my recollection) in the Ian Fleming novels.

However, Commander James Bond is referred to as "White" in some places, so to cast a coloured person, or non-British actor as James Bond (as in Woody Allen in the original Casino Royale, but this was for comic effect) would be against Mr Fleming's work.

James Bond of any hair color or skin color is still a "player" and a bad example of "Users" to people who don't know any better. There are already too many James Bonds. Why don"t they come up with a secret agent who respects females for something other than their flesh? To the second question: No, not really.

It wouldn't be Bond. Flemming wrote Bond as an ageing uppper middles class white man, as much as we live in a PC society, it would be like casting Adam Sandler as Shaft - just doesn't work. They did bandy about Colin Salmon (who play and MI6 worker in the films) as the new Bond - He could carry a Bond style film as he is a fantastic and totally underachieving actor, however, he isn't Flemming's Bond.

p.s. Don't get me started on Craig!!!

In real life, covert operatives of any intelligence agencies around the world could be black or white. When it comes to movies, it is the discretion of the producers and directors on whose actor or actress they are going to hire, suitable to play the lead role.

Personally, I think that would be the sexiest Bond yet, until they wise up and finally cast Antonio Banderras!

No. It wouldn't fly very well. Black guys with british accents?
and 007 with an afro?

I suppose they could get that one guy from hustle n flow to do it if they did.
