Was he watching the news lately and getting fed up with what he was seeing? Did his comments spring from having to work with and for the very people he criticized.

From everything I am seeing and reading he indeed make those statements. I'm quite surprised and disappointed. There are a lot of people in Hollywood from whom I would have expected such terrible behavior but Mel Gibson always seemed like one of the good guys.
It's sad that young people in today's world have so few people that they can look up to.

Have none of you ever gotten drunk and said stupid things you didn't mean? I'm not condoning Mel by any means. He did something colossolly stupid and I hope right now he feels like the world's biggest idiot, because he should. However, don't judge the man by what he says when he is drunk as a skunk, judge him by his actions in the long term. If you still don't like him then fine, but this is an isolated incident by a man who actually admits there is a problem, and it should be treated as such.

Yes he made those comments and has admitted it. How hypocritcal can you be? Mel has dug himself a nice hole, and now I hear he has entered alcohol rehab. All this from a guy who was so busy pushing a religious movie not so long ago. I cannot tolerate hypocrits.

Sure he did. No one put words in his mouth. I'm sick and tired of hearing excuses. I always like Mel Gibson, I wish he would stop blaming booze. Like words, no one pour alcohol in his mouth.

Sure seems he did. Even his agent says it was a nuclear event or something like that.
It was really a stupid thing to do. If he is that racist I hope his career is over.
