As far as I'm concerned, Gates made Brees into the stud he became. It's not hard throwing to a big guy like him who can jump 38+ inches and shakes off DBs/LBs like flies.

Rivers will do fine, LT will be stacked 8-in-the-box which would free up McCardell and Parker.

Based on his numbers he'll have lower than average year for a NFL QB. Teams will gang up to stop Tomlinson and force Rivers to throw often....not a good scenario if you are a Charger fan

Average because of Antonio Gates and LaDanian Tomilson and a ok receiver in Keenan Mcardell and a good coach with marty

Good because he will be expected to manage games and not win them this year as the Chargers have a good team. He'll have to make a big play here and there, but he won't be counted on to win games by himself. Think of him doing what Roethlisberger did last year. He didn't have to do anything special either.

He will be average but he may be good if his recievers can help contribute and Tomlinson stays healthy. Also if Gates plays the same he has the last few seasons.

GIve the Charges another good solid receiver and he will be above average in another year or two but i dont think he will become a mvp-caliber QB

I think he'll be good. The pieces are around him so he doesn't have to win games...he just can't lose them. If he can keep the Chargers from losing games, San Diego will be in the playoffs.

If Schottenheimer keeps things simple for him, I will say good. Give him a year to get to know the offense from a starter's point of view, then when he gets the grasp of it, turn him loose
