How long after weaning from breast does ur period return?

Varies for every woman. Some get their period before the baby weans. Others can take months after. In an "ideal" world, it would return within a month or so of the drop in levels of the hormone prolactin that accompanies weaning.

This is a "Tricky" question to me, because, when I was pregnant with my oldest son, I kept getting like "spotting" or more like my period, for a day, or so, then not at all for a month...Until, I ended-up, getting pregnant, without, even knowing I was pregnant... I went to bed, one night, early while my husband (at that time, we're devorced,now), stayed up to watch T.V., ...Had I not had to get up to go to the bathroom, I'd probably be "Dead" right now..... When I got up, from my dark bedroom I saw something dark, in the corner of my eye, and then all of a sudden I started just Literally "Gushing Blood" I yelled for my husband, to come help me !!! There was a "Huge" blood trail, from our king sized bed, to the "John" and I filled the toilet twice, in a panic, I flushed !!! Not knowing I was pregnant at all......Lo' & behold, we would live in the middle of "Nowhere" land..... When the Amatuer Paramedics got there, they packed me ,full of gauze, to try & stop the bleeding ......Then, on our way, from Groveland Ca. too Sonora, Cal.....the nearest hospitol, the ambulance breaks down!! My then husband, was trying to get the gas station owner up, to sell him gas!! As he was going to follow us, so we'd have our own way home...... I'm in this dark ambulance, in the middle of nowhere, panicking !!! I asked the driver, if I was going to die, before my husband or another ambulance came? He said just calm down, another ambulance was on its way !! Well when I'd gotten to the hospitol, it was a "Stat" in this iddy-biddy room were about 4-5 nurses, and my doctor, an anethisiologist, and then my husband showed-up!! Meanwhile, the doctor, was chewing-out the paramedics, for packing me!!! He yelled at them:"She could have died from internal bleeding" !! Of course, I could have "Sewed" them, but in all reality, they were saving my life the best way, they knew how!!! They weren't trying deliberately to kill me!!! I was suppose to have a "Blood Transfusion" but thats a whole nother story & one of the reasons, I devorced my ex !!! So, you could get your mensy while your nursing and even, get pregnant, too!! Or else, I'm a "Rare case".............
