Are you allowed to show your personality, or do you just sit there and answer questions like a robot?

I've never had a job before, and I just want to know what your first job interview was like....Did you joke around or what? Thanks...

First off, GOOD LUCK : )

Try not to be overly confident or too brash. Ask the interviewer specific questions to what they really want. You can tell by their answers or questions if they have someone else in mind already or if they are really interested.

Lookout for desperate employers or as if they have a high turnover, chances are it will not work out for you either. Make sure it is something you really want which will relax you even more and that they're not just looking for a warm body.

I spent Monday acting as a job interviewer for my sons summer communication class ( High School), as an adult I am impressed by manners, shake hands, introduce yourself, if the interviewer doesn't ask you a question that you think would better your chances tell them! I had a young woman who said " I have to think about that...then came up with an excellent response, I admired the fact that she had to take a moment and landed on her feet....maybe she just showed me a skill that she could use at a job....good luck.

Definately be relaxed and don't be afraid to smile. However, don't make inappropriate jokes or comments that you would make in the presence of people you are familiar with.
Just be confident and have in your mind the reason you are good for the job and what you can bring to the table.

Laugh and be sweet, and DON'T talk about yourself negatively or show any complaining habits. Be polite, yes sir thank you ma'am, all that jazz. Dress NICE regardless if the place is a dump or very casual.
