I recently received an email from a "barrister" in Ghana, Africa who says that I share the same last name as a millionaire from his country who died in a car accident with his wife and child awhile back. This lawyer says that I can inherit millions if I just take a trip down there and submit the bank some information. I've heard of this sort of scam before, but could it be real, or has someone here received an email like this before that turned out to be false?

Go check www.419eater.com.

This type of scam is called Nigerian 419. They tell you they want to get money out of the country, or you inherited millions and what not. Then they will ask you to pay this and that "legal" fee.
Of course, you can then kiss your money goodbye.

419 eaters is a group of people who are having a pastime of making fools of those crooks, sometime they even manage to take money AWAY from them (they give it to charity).

No one EVER got a real email that told them they have money in Africa.

Do you have relatives in Ghana?

Do you think your email is readily available to barristers in Ghana?

Do you really think it might be for real?

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE SCAM
