A little bit of every type of food is the best. Don't worry about the "happening" diets that are all the rage. They really are bologna. It's completely okay to have a nice Twinki or brownie. The key is moderation in all things.
P.S.- Noone should be afraid of carbs unless they OD on them.

I hear you and agree. Too many food fads these days. I say pick your favorite foods or recipes and adjust them to be more healthy. Like using Extra Virgin Olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Skim, Low-fat or Soy Milk instead of whole Milk, Whole wheat instead of white flour, Steaming or a quick stir fry of foods instead of deep frying, Fresh fruits and veggies whenever possible over canned, drinking lots and lots of water daily, More fish and lean meats, and low fat desserts instead of high fat ones ones. (there are a lot of choices now days. Don't restrict yourself, but eat smaller portions)
I love chicken breasts(dipped in lemon juice) coated in bread crumbs, lemon zest and parmesean cheese, sauted in olive oil in a non-stick pan for a couple min.on each side. YUM,
Or roasting veggies : peppers, asparagus, tomatoes, drizzled with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, bake on a cookie sheet 5-10 minutes...YUM
Make homemade taco chips-by using either pita bread or tortillas. Cut into triangles. Place on cookie sheet, brush with olive oil, sprinkle with choice of spices:oinion powder, garlic, oregano, chili powder, etc... Bake 10-15min at 350 or until golden. Serve with fresh salsa (Chopped tomato, cilantro, onion, jalapeno pepper chooped, lime juice...whatever you like.. Also Avacdao is healthy so a guacamole is good here too.
Or take the above chicken breast, cooked and cooled a bit, and make a wrap with tortialls, tomatoes, lettuce, avacado etc...
The best advice I can give is have fun, be creative with your foods and experiment. Some things will come out better than others. But that's ok. I think people generally know what's healthy and what's not. But some people just don't enjoy cooking or playing with their food. Have fun and enjoy!

I keep it simple:
brown rice, veggies, cheese, nuts, fish, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, eggs...
I keep most of this stuff around at all times and get creative inthe kitchen. Whole wheat pasta with sauteed veggies and olive oil is really good, cheap, fast, and filling.
If you're looking for something REALLY quick, I eat a lot of quesadillas with salsa and hot sauce.
Just keep it simple. Buy real, whole foods, and not processed crap. That's the key! I don't have any recipes. sorry :-(
check out the food network's web page. they have anything and everything you could ever want to prepare!
Have fun!

non organic produce is still pretty healthy. just wash it and you'll be fine. brown rice and potatoes will fill you up and Ezekiel bread is sprouted grain so it digests easier.
if you're not vegetarian sardines are cheap, very healthy and don't have high mercury levels
