I think it's OK to fart in front of my wife but she said it's not normal. She even asked people in her office, and they agree with her, but what do you expect from a bunch of ladies?
Well the real problem was the other day when my mother-in-law came over for dinner and I sort of wasn't thinking, and ripped a medium-sized fart. It wasn't that bad, really. I mean it stunk a little but it wasn't one of those that makes your eyes water. But her mother carried on like it was the end of the world. "Oh my God, he farted! He farted!" She was yelling so loud, I'll bet all the neighbors could hear the old bag.
Anyway, wife got pretty upset and now anytime I fart, she starts some drama. Like last night I felt one coming on so I pulled the cover over my wife's head and she yelled, "Don't you dare fart!" But it was too late and I let a pretty smelly one out. Now she won't talk to me. I tried to explain but she just won't listen.
Guys help me out here. You fart around your wife, don't you?

Oh, man, I couldn't stop laughing for 15 minutes when I read this. I'm just now settling down enough to type this.
I don't have a wife, but my married friends have no problem farting around their wives, even when company like myself is over. Having male company is one thing, but a mother-in-law is something else.
You obviously don't think much of your MIL, referring to her as an "old bag." Admittedly, she did put on too much drama when you cracked one off in front of her. But perhaps it's best when you have more sensitive company over you either do the ol' one-cheek-sneak or excuse yourself to another room.
The wife will come around, though. She enjoys a good fart as much as you do; she's just still upset over the MIL business.

Well, this is a SCIENTIFIC Fact, the average male farts 14 times a day and guess what..... the average female also farts 14 times a day. So its nothing to do with gender. So, every person in this world farts atleast once a day. Its quite embarassing for ppl to talk about it and thats why they cover up and say...hey I don't fart. But u know what..its quite embarassing to do it in front of others so consult a doctor maybe he can tell u what u can do to reduce it. Also try to find out what kind of food you shouldn't eat to reduce it. Atleast go to another room and do it...not in front of ur mother in law. But I guess its ok to do it in front of ur wife...but not all the time ok.

This is so funny because my husband didn't fart in front of me while we were dating but now that we are this old married couple he lets it out anytime of the day and anywhere!
We were even in the waiting room of a hospital and he did it just to see me want to hide, and just cracked up!
For some odd reason men seem to get a kick out of this and also seem to have more gas than we ladies have. Of course it is like a symphony when my husband starts and the kids follow along!!!

Coming from a girls point of view, farts are human nature. If they stink then go the heck out of the room. Who wants to smell that s---. We grew up where farts were there but oh my gosh it's not the worst thing in the world. Please there are so many more problems out there than farting.Get a grip. Go in the bathroom or other room. Use some spray and be respectful of the other people around you.

LMAO your wife must be a prude! My man farts around me, and sometimes I fart around him LOL... who gives a crap literally! It's funny to us...
I think it is rude when doing it in front of company, but sometimes he still can't help it..
I would suggest next time you need to let a fart out... save it for the moment when you can get real close to your wife... hug her and tell her to squeeze you hard and show just how much she loves you... and then blame her when it releases... (this should cause her to laugh histerically and grin everytime you fart from here after LOL)

Some women are a pain in the a$$ about this subject. I don't know why either. Everyone farts, it's a natural process.
I loved your story with the mother-in-law, made me laugh.
An old guy once told me that women don't fart because they can't keep their mouth shut long enough for the pressure to build-up.
Give it rest for a while and don't sweat it.

Ok, yes... I do fart around my wife.
But most of the time she started it! LOL
Seriously though… I think your issue here is that you got the Mother in Law involved. That was a major mistake. You really got to keep that side of you between just you and her.

my husband farts in front of me all the time. if your wife has a problem with it then she needs to grow up! its a natural body function and if thats is not normal to her then she should get a life! Sometimes, if weve eaten something spicy, we have farting contests until we start crying from laughing so much. its great. girls fart too...all the time so maybe if she started letting hers go she wouldnt be so cranky all the time.

I'm not one of the guys, but my husband does fart around me. I don't mind. It's our home and its a natural part of our bodily functions. The worse thing he does though. We go to the grocery or department store. He will let one loose, silent, beside me. I'm unaware of this and he will leave me with the smell. How nice of him. When you mother-in-law comes I suggest you might want to go to the bathroom next time.

My husband lets them rip all over the house and he has even done the dutch oven to me. i act like i get mad but its something that you can't help sometimes and so its normal...your wife shouldnt get mad or stop talking to you just for a fart life is to short and to fight over a stupid reason like that is not good. My husband does get all paranoid if i fart though because he said that women arent supposed to fart. i don't care what he thinks i let them rip and its not like mine smell so he has nothing to worry about.
